Cecil D. St. Pierre Jr.'s Positions and Views on These Issues:
Profile for Cecil D. St. Pierre Jr.
General: (political statement of goals, objectives, views, philosophies)
The initial task is for Jobs, Jobs, Jobs. This should be the only issue before any State office holder. Although the State is heavily dependent on the auto industry, they should do everything to save it. While doing everything they can to save it, additional industries should be encouraged to invest in the State of Michigan. As a Warren Councilman, the idea was to encourage investment with property tax abatements in order to ensure that manufacturers would stay and/or create new jobs because it would be too expensive to leave the investment. I would make it a point to meet with representatives of the auto companies, automotive suppliers and every major industry in the district to see what the government can do to encourage growth and/or insure their existence

I would like to focus on the regionalization of the Detroit Water Board. There is taxation without representation. The City of Detroit won’t even give the City of Warren its billing procedure. Detroit residents are not paying their water bill. The local municipalities are funding this particular public utility with no representation.
