LaVoy and his wife, Michelle, live in Monroe with their children, Grace and Carolyn.
LaVoy served 14 years as the executive director of Monroe Public Access Cable Television.
He has volunteered as a teacher with Junior Achievement, and served on the City of Monroe Airport Board and the Monroe Cable Television Committee.
State Representative Bill LaVoy is serving his first term representing Michigan’s 17th House District, which covers portions of Wayne and Monroe County, including the cities of Monroe, Flat Rock and Rockwood.
