Michigan is facing a budget deficit like no other State in the Union. With the decline in available jobs, a decline in the value of our homes, revenue is down and expenses are up. "We the People" have had to tighten our belts and weather through some tough times. But it appears that Lansing has not learned this lesson. Our State does not have unlimited funds and our elected officials need to realize this important fact. Enough is enough!
Since the recession started it has been a continual robbing Peter to pay Paul program. It is time that Michigan has a balanced budget and a solid plan to put us back on the path to prosperity. We can no longer lure companies to Michigan with tax breaks and punish the viable companies that are here. It is time to make Michigan business friendly. We were once the most prosperous place to live and we need to go back to our beginnings.
A Government for the people, by the people, MUST be represented by someone who LISTENS to the people. I stand ready to serve the People of Michigan's 9th district.
Thank you for supporting me for your next State Senator.

I was born and raised in the Metro area by my father Terry, who owned a construction business, and my mother Ruth who stayed at home to raise five children. I spent my summers up north at my grandparent's cottage on Dease Lake learning the finer points of boating, fishing, hunting, hiking, and a real appreciation for Michigan's beautiful outdoors. I started my family at age 20 and have raised three wonderful children. Eric is a successful machinist, Natalie is an accomplished film editor and Jessica who is attending college plus working. I will have my first wedding in May when Eric and his fianc? Tiffany (a school teacher) tie the knot. I have been very active in the lives of my children with scouts, sports, scholastic activities, and charitable events.

I know the value of hard work. I started in the HVAC industry as a truck driver and worked my way up to Sales Manager. It took long hours and a lot of dedication to succeed in such a competitive industry. In 2000 I was approached by the president of Viking Range Corporation to be the Operations Manager for one of their distribution centers and I accepted. I increased their profitability and market share by introducing streamlined processes and new business ventures. This diversity ended up developing new business and revenues that were previously untapped.
